Where to Cut Your Own Christmas Tree

Here come the holidays!

My family and I have a beautiful piece of property that we call “Dancing Trees”. In the summer, I like to spend an equal amount of time relaxing, digging various holes and trenches (IDK why) and planning our dream cabin. We have discussed yurts, domes, log cabin and most recently, a sort of earth shelter. It sure is fun to think of all the possibilities.

In late November or early December (depending on how much snow is up there), we enjoy an outing to cut our Christmas tree.

If you have the tradition of putting up a tree this time of year and would like to try your hand at cutting one down yourself, here’s where you can do it.

  • Beaver Meadows Ranch Resort Beaver Meadows Christmas Tree You can get your natural, wonderful, perfectly imperfect tree here. You can even stay the night. Or just enjoy cross-country skiing, snow shoeing or ice fishing. They even have a 12 run tubing park! Check it out here: Tubing and other activites

  • Arapahoe and Roosevelt National Forest. Get into the wild! You can find all the rules and get your permit to cut a tree here: Christmas Tree permit

  • Medicine Bow. Another national forest. Get your permit here: Tree Permit

  • Your own land I’m always happy to help you search your own version of “Dancing Trees”

Your Perfect Colorado Life is waiting for you! Enjoy every minute.
